A hands-on crash course in Zellij against its real defaults. You'll learn the modal model, panes and tabs, resize and move, scrollback and search, sessions and resurrection, layouts, plugins, and the config polish worth doing. Every keybinding here is the stock default, so what you read is what your terminal does.
Write a personal layout in KDL: an editor pane, an agent pane, and a logs pane in a sensible arrangement. Load it as a named session with zellij --layout. Then drive a full workflow without touching the mouse: split a scratch pane, jump between panes, open a second tab, break a pane out into it, resize the editor, scroll and search the logs, detach, and reattach. When you can do that whole loop from memory, Zellij has stopped being a thing you configure and become a thing you use.
